About
A quiet introduction to the writer behind the journal.
My name is Cal Yunker, and I write Stay Notes — a journal shaped by stillness, movement, and the quiet invitation of travel.
I’ve always been drawn to places with character and calm, the kind you don’t rush through but ease into. The journal grew from that instinct to pause, look closer, and gather moments that linger.
Stay Notes is simply my way of paying attention.
Who I Am
Most stories begin as field notes — a line scribbled on a small card, a detail noticed in passing, or a moment that changes when you look at it twice.
I write slowly, letting places tell their part first. What ends up in the journal is a blend of reflection, memory, and the textures of a stay: light, weather, sound, quiet.
I’m not interested in racing through destinations. I’m interested in the parts that stay with you.
How I Write
Stay Notes Journal isn’t a guidebook or a directory. It’s an archive of experiences — the kind that help you travel by feel rather than formula.
Some pieces are stays, some are reflections, some are short excursions from the margins of a day. All of them are written to give you a moment of calm and a reason to look a little closer.
What This Journal Is For
I believe travel can be grounding.
A stay can teach you to slow down.
A quiet morning can reset the rhythm of a week.
In collecting these notes, my hope is to offer something simple: a place where the world gets a little quieter, and where you can find a story that meets you where you are.
Why This Matters to Me
Thank you for reading — and for giving these quiet stories a home.
